Sam had gotten used to the hike to Cassie's place, but that didn't mean he still didn't grumble a bit when he had to make it. Yeah, it was a small concession to make to visit the most amazing girl in the world (or several worlds, depending on your experience with inter-dimensional travel) but that didn't make it fun. It also made it especially difficult if you wanted to bring your girlfriend a treat of ice cream or something.

During the Old West though, he didn't have to worry about that particular problem. It was stupid hot though, so even just jogging there was brutal. Besides that, there weren't really any athletic clothes for the time period, which meant he had to walk the entire distance in tight jeans, flannel, and boots.

Fortunately, Cassie was worth it.

"Cassie!" he called out as he approached the little homestead that was a short ways from the main section of the town. Reaching into his bag, he tossed a sandwich he had brought to Iris, hoping it would at least temporary appease the dog.

"Your incredible loyal and loving boyfriend has hiked all this way to see you. Please be appropriately flattered."

No, there was no jumping up and down because she was little bit in shock. Surprise attacks she could handle but not surprise moving in requests by her boyfriend about moving forward in their relationship.

But she also knew the signs of Sam about to talk nervously until he was blue in the face so before she answered, she kissed him, deeply. "Yes."

Sam was a little bit surprised by the kiss, not entirely sure how to react. Was she happy? Was she letting him down kindly? Was she stalling?

Did it really matter because she was really, really good at kissing?

When they broke the kiss and she gave him her answer, he beamed for a moment before his face fell.

"Are you sure? If you're not sure you can say so, it's okay."

That was one of the differences between them. Sam thought too much sometimes and Cassie acted too quickly sometimes. This was a little bit of both.

Cassie just chuckled lightly and kissed the tip of his nose. "Yes, I'm sure. I kept this hut because my sister built it but...I think she'd be very happy for me to give it up to move in with the person I'm head over heels for." Then she did laugh. "Though I'll admit, the emotional manipulation helped."

"I knew the pony would be the thing that tipped the scales. What girl doesn't want to be closer to their pony?"

Sam knew this was a huge step for them and part of him was more than a little freaked out about it. There was a lot that was going to change for them and they'd have to work through stuff, but he knew they could do it.

"Seriously though, you're okay with this? Because if you need some time to think it over, I'm cool with that. No pressure. Well, a little bit of pressure because if you change your mind I will be absolutely crushed. Understanding, but crushed."

"I'm still shocked your are speaking of my pony. Does this mean you aren't scared of Hemera anymore? She likes you, you know."

Cassie couldn't resist teasing him a little before turning serious again. She was a little freaked out too but she found it easier to just act when it felt right. And this felt right.

"This feels right. The moment you said it. That's good enough for me." But she did laugh then. "Plus, I practically live in your hut anyway. And Cissie spends most of her time at the tree house with Bart. This is just...a little scary but the next step."

"You'll have to do something with this place then," Sam said, guessing that she wouldn't want to abandon it, not if her sister built it.

"But we can think about that later, I think right now we should celebrate. This is a huge, scary step and we're going through with it."

"Cissie might want to keep it. So she can keep claiming she doesn't live at the treehouse. It can be our girl hide away." Cassie rolled her eyes as she teased. But it would be nice to still have a place for her and Cissie to hang out away from the boys, even if they didn't live there anymore.

"But!" That suggestion earned Sam another kiss. "I approve of celebrating. Can we go dancing?" Even if it was just finding a music player they could borrow to bring back to their new hut, it seemed like the appropriate celebration.

"We can do whatever you want," he said, grinning as he leaned forward to kiss along her neck. He loved it when Cassie danced, she had an amazing body and amazing moves. It was less dancing for him and more staring at various parts of Cassie while remembering to move on occasion.

"I... I really, really like you Cassie. I'm crazy about you. Like- storybook, this-type-of-thing-can't-be-real crazy about you."

Him just watching was fine with her. Cassie would never admit it, but she was a bit of show off, especially to people she cared about. She liked to dance and she wanted to make it good for Sam to watch. It was a win/win for everyone.

But dancing could wait. She pulled back a bit so she could looked up at him. This was important. "Sam...are you trying to tell me you love me? Because if you are...I love you too. In the storybook, this-type-of-thing-can't-be-real kinda way."

Wow. It was so, so much better when the girl said it first. Not that Sam was afraid to say it, he wasn't. It was just sort of a thing with him, a fear that once he said it Cassie would lose interest somehow. She could have any guy she wanted, so sometimes it freaked him out that she wanted him. Having her say that she loved him though was more comforting than he realized it would be. Insecurities he thought he had dealt with were suddenly reassured.

"I do. I love you, Casandra Sandsmark. I love you more than I have loved anything in my life which includes, but is not limited to, everything ever. I love the way you laugh at my stupid jokes, I love how you think it's so romantic and not cheesy when I'm trying to be romantic. I love how you look first thing in the morning, when you're blinking your eyes and just waking up and you look so perfectly content and kind of confused. I love how you hit me hard in the arm when I tease you. I even love how you snore, because it sometimes wakes me up and gives me an excuse to watch you sleep which is sort of creepy but I don't care. I love you."

Cassie could only stare at him as he kept talking, a part of her unable to comprehend what she was hearing. And a blush was slowly creeping up her cheeks as he continued. This was so sweet and perfect and Sam.

Her hands came up to cup his face, as if it was the most precious thing in the world. Which in truth, wasn't that far off. "Oh Sam. That was beautiful. I wish...I wish I was as good with words as you are so I could tell you how much that I love you are better with words then I am. And how you aren't intimidated by the fact I'm stronger and faster then you. At least physically, because when it comes to brains and resolve...I've never met anyone stronger. I love when you try to be romantic because it is cheesy and so very you. You make me laugh and feel like the most special girl in the world...for being just me and not a superhero. And if none of that made sense, that let me show you that I love you in the way I'm good at."

And so she stood up taller so she could kiss him, putting all those words in one simple gesture.

Sam thought Cassie was more than adequate with words, especially the way the ones she was saying made his stomach flip-flop and his pulse race faster. Mikaela was always so reserved and hesitant to open up about her emotions, but Cassie didn't seem to have that problem, not with him.

He had to admit though, she was definitely better at kissing. Way, way better at kissing than she was at talking. He pressed into her and kissed her back thoroughly, trying to do his best to show her just how much she meant to him too.

Emotions was one thing Cassie didn't have a problem with. It was part of being a Wonder. Emotions were part of their power and what they brought to a team. And in this case, to a relationship.

After a nice, long and involved kiss, Cassie pulled back and looked up at him. "You don't have anywhere to be right?" She had celebrating on the mind, but it didn't involve dancing or even going out.

"Not after kissing me like that I don't," he said.

Sam actually didn't have anywhere to be but he definitely would have found a way to get out of it right now. Sure, they could probably postpone and pick up from where they left off but this was kind of a big moment. Plus she was a really, really good kisser. Among other things.

"Why, you got something special planned?"

"Nope. Just you and me, showing how much we love each other."

Cassie honestly didn't care of that meant fun with less clothes or just holding each other. Anything that involved her and Sam staying right here in this hut for the next few hours sounded good to her. After that declaration, she just waned to to enjoy being in love with the most amazing guy she'd ever met.

"Mmmmmm, are you sure? Because I love you a whole lot," he said, kissing her again as he pulled her over toward the direction of the bed. They could definitely spend at least a few hours just breaking the surface of how much they loved each other.

"I don't know if I can do it properly with all your clothes on though. Or my clothes on. In fact, there should be no clothes within a 10 foot radius."

"Well, I'm not dumping my clothes outside so unless you want to move all my stuff now, there are probably going to be clothes in a 10 foot radius. 5 foot I can maybe work with, if you'll negotiate." Even as she teased, Cassie let herself be pulled along and her hands even started pulling at his shirt. "And of course I'm sure."

"Five foot then," he said, leaning in to brush her hair out of the way so he could kiss along her neck. He loved how she smelled, all fresh and wild and familiar. It was a weird thing to notice, but it was one of the things that he associated her then.

"I'll try not to fling them further than five feet while I take them off you."

She ducked away, only so she could pull his shirt off over his head. "Be careful. I'm going to hold you too it."

"Please, you're going to be doing a lot more than holding me close in a moment," he said with a laugh, leaning forward to kiss her again once his shirt was off. Her playfulness was one of the things he loved about her.

"Oh really? And what exactly am I going to be going then?" She said with a wiggle of her eyebrows as he hands dropped to his pants. The general playfulness that existed in just about every part of their relationship was one of the things she loved most about it. Neither of them took themselves too seriously...except when it was necessary.

"Hey, if I told you that would ruin the surp-"

Sam's brain suddenly stopped working as she began to mess with his pants. She hadn't really done much of anything but the promise of it made his mind wander into places that just shut it down with a mix of excitement and pleasure.

"Guh."

Cassie used his brain stoppage to turn them around and push him back onto the bed. She made short work of his pants before straddling his hips, still fully clothed. "What was that about flinging my cloths around?" She asked with an innocence that was completely fake but she didn't care.

"I'm going to take them off with my mind," Sam said, holding his hands up to his head like he presumed someone with psychic powers would do. Not that he knew someone with psychic powers, although Cassie probably did.

Cassie was too busy giggling at her dorky boyfriend to point out that people with psychic powers didn't do that. Though Kon was known to do it with his TTK when he was showing off.

When she could breath, she sat up and crossed her arms over her chest. "So how's that working out for you?"

"Just give me a bit, it's not instantaneous," Sam said, grinning at her as he squirmed to take off his own shorts. There was more than one way to get someone naked. Well, not really, you had to get their clothes off, but more than one way to do that.

Cassie lifted off a bit so he could take his shorts off but otherwise she didn't move to take off her own. "I'm waiting..."

Sam shucked off his shorts and grinned, sitting up so that he was leaning close to Cassie. Nuzzling along her neck, he kissed softly against her ear.

"If you were naked," he murmured. "I could do that thing with my tongue that you like."

Cassie tried to resist, she did...but then Sam said that and all her resolve went to hell. "Oh, now you are just playing fair!" She said as she started to pull her skirt off.

"I'll even throw in a Sam Witwicky 2 for 1 special," he said, grinning with utterly delight as he watched Cassie take her skirt off. No matter how many times they did this, Sam was ridiculous giddy about it every time.

"That's a guaranteed two orgasms for you for every one I have."

The rest of her remaining clothing followed soon after before she pounced back on him. "My boyfriend, so considerate." She couldn't help an excited giggled, as she felt the same way. After she'd gotten over her fears, every time was new and exciting.

Sam just stared at her for the brief moment before she pounced on him, wrapping his arms around her to pull her into a kiss. He loved this girl so much it was crazy.

"See, used my mind to get you naked."

"You cheated. Or are very clever." She replied in-between kisses. "I just haven't decided which." Both were so very Sam, in a good way, and she loved that about him. That she couldn't describe him easily except as just: Sam.

"I'll take both," he said, sliding his hands along her body as he kissed her, arching up against her. If cheating was what it took to end up here, Sam would happily never, ever play by the rules again.

She was a super hero, she should not condone cheating.

But right now, Cassie honestly couldn't care less. Not when it got Sam being cocky in bed and kissing her like this. "Careful," she teased as she rubbed against him. "I'd hate for you to turn evil. Then I've have to stop you."

"Wait, what?" Sam said, looking at Cassie in the eye again. As much as he loved her, she was really, really distracting when she was naked. When she talked and when she was naked it was hard to focus on both those things.

"Sorry, just.... breasts."
