This was going to be awkward, there was no doubt about it. There were not enough turtles in all the oceans to demonstrate the level of awkward this was going to be. Sam tried to keep telling himself that it was going to be better in the end, that they'd really communicate and get some things out and be closer for it. Somehow that didn't make it less awkward though.

He'd picked a time to come visit when he knew that Cissie would be out for a while. This was definitely not something they wanted someone else around for. It also didn't help that Cassie was still not in the best of moods after not getting any superpowers over the weekend. But Sam wasn't going to put this off any longer. It was time.

She certainly hoped his intention was for her to like, and thankfully that was the result. To the point that she moaned softly into the kiss and her eyes fell shut for a completely different reason as he started down her neck. Sam immediately froze when he felt Cassie tense up. He had only come here to talk to her and he honestly hadn't expected things to progress like this. "Though we should probably either get completely under the covers or put some clothes on. This is probably not what Cissie wants to see as soon as she walks in."

"I doubt she'll be back tonight." Cassie said without thinking, but realized quickly she should clarify. "She still lives here and all, but she's been spending about as many nights with Bart as I do with you."

Still, covers wouldn't hurt so she reluctantly let go of Sam long enough to pull them up from under them. But once she had them settled over them, she was quick to snuggle back against Sam's side.

"Maybe we can have a repeat in the morning then," Sam said, scooting up against her and pulling her close. He couldn't resist running his hand along her hip, feeling how firm the muscle was in contrast to the smoothness of her skin.

"You know it's crazy, right? Us? I mean... you're perfect. Just... every way. I could chalk the body up to you being a literal half-goddess and the hardest working person I know. But the rest... you're just amazing."

But as Sam spoke, she looked up at him and put a finger on his lips to stop him. "Stop. I'm not perfect. Believe me. And it's not nearly as crazy as me finding someone as smart and incredible as you who would put up with a girl who'd rather beat up a bad guy then go shoe shopping. Plus is quite the cutie to boot." She reached up and planted a kiss on his nose. Let's just call us both lucky, huh?"
