This was going to be awkward, there was no doubt about it. There were not enough turtles in all the oceans to demonstrate the level of awkward this was going to be. Sam tried to keep telling himself that it was going to be better in the end, that they'd really communicate and get some things out and be closer for it. Somehow that didn't make it less awkward though.

He'd picked a time to come visit when he knew that Cissie would be out for a while. This was definitely not something they wanted someone else around for. It also didn't help that Cassie was still not in the best of moods after not getting any superpowers over the weekend. But Sam wasn't going to put this off any longer. It was time.

"Cassie!" he called out as he approached the hut. "Beautiful, you here?"

Sam didn't know how much it used to be. Trying to prove herself to Wonder Woman, to Super Boy, to everyone. But after having friends who she could relax around on Young Justice and on the island, Cassie had been able to settle the two sides of herself, Cassie and Wonder Girl, into a more workable union.

But that was part of the reason she liked Sam so much. He didn't see her as one or the other. He saw her as both and was okay with that. That he was secure and patient enough to accept her for who she was.

"If your hands wander into places that might not be wise, trust me, you'll know." She was teasing, really.
