Cassie might have been able too, if her own heart was pounding away in her own ears. So wrapped up in the feeling of what he was doing that she barely even noticed that he was undressing her further.

It was when she felt the zipper coming down that it hit her what he was doing and she froze for a moment, almost instinctively. She still wasn't afraid, this was just a big step and demanded some kind of recognition, even if it just was her heart speeding up.
