Coraline didn't mind snakes, it was spiders that made her uncomfortable and for a time she'd in fact had a spider. Just because it made her... uncomfortable didn't necessarily mean she was scared. Besides Ron didn't like spiders and Ron was cool or at least Coraline thought he was cool. Not that she'd spoke to him really, she could just tell. "I really didn't like bears or men. It made me really jumpy and yelling-y all the time."
