People didn't stay on Earth anymore if they could help it. The rich ones moved away, moved to different parts of Mars or Venus, each being preferred for its own reasons. Mars was always a little colder, a little more refined, more fabric to cover skin. But Venus had its appeal too, romantic and full of fervor. Earth, though.
